Leadership facilitations by the Center for Leadership are available to Cal Poly students, student organizations and staff & faculty who are requesting a facilitation that will be provided to students they teach or support. The only financial costs with facilitation requests are printing any materials and finding a space to host the facilitation. Leadership facilitations are tailored for the student’s specific needs and focus of the students we are working with (be that the student organization, course subject matter, and more).
The Center for Leadership has a different topics and sessions that cover a variety of leadership topics and competencies all through a social justice lens that can be requested. If you are hoping for us to facilitate for a longer amount of time you may decide to choose multiple topics for us to facilitate. Facilitation requests for the following facilitations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance and will be approved depending on our staffing availability.
Intrapersonal Development -
Knowledge of self, personal goal setting, values, beliefs, and identities.
- Understanding yourself & your leadership style
- Leadership through a Social Justice Lens
- Goal Setting
- Resiliency in Leadership
- Leadership is Action
Interpersonal Development -
Meaningful and healthy relationships; effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Conflict Resolution
- Stages of Group Development
- Exploring & Combating Power Dynamics in Leadership
If you are interested in a leadership facilitation that is not outlined above, our staff is available to create a specific tailored session or series of sessions. For example, we worked with the Cal Poly Honors program to create a 3 part leadership series training in their first year seminar and provided the Quarter Plus Living Learning Assistants with a 4 part facilitation and leadership training.
We ask that you request this session(s) at least 1 month in advance so that we have enough time to meet with you in person to learn more about your request and to create the lesson plan(s).
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns.
