Peer Leader: Overall Peer Leader General Responsibilities

Overall Peer Leader General Responsibilities: Peer Leaders work under the supervision of the Center for Leadership Coordinators and graduate staff. After participating in leadership training, Peer Leaders will be an active and engaged member of the Center for Leadership team including but not limited to:

  • Day to day office operations – including but not limited to answering emails and phone calls to the Center and helping with administrative tasks.
  • Participate in tabling events and short announcements/pitches about the Center for Leadership and upcoming events throughout the year. Including but not limited to:
    • WOW
    • Mustang Family Weekend
    • Open House 
    • UU Hour and general UU/Dexter lawn tabling 
  • Attending and supporting all large scale Center for Leadership events/programs: 
    • Student Leadership Institute 
    • LEAD Awards
    • Large speakers/panels 
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings (2hrs a week that switch between full Peer Leader staff meetings and team meetings), ongoing trainings, and retreats.
  • Engage with the staff member overseeing your Team in 1:1’s at least three times a quarter and ongoing advising and support. 
  • Assist with hiring processes (Peer Leaders, graduate assistants, and possibly full time staff members)
  • Help plan and facilitate staff bonding opportunities
